Pedestrian Link between the Round Tower and Corkagh Park

Project has been assigned a project coordinator within the Land Use, Planning and Transportation department.

Renovate Portocabin for the Clondalkin Men Shed

The Clondalkin Men's Shed is carrying out the renovation work and submitting receipts as work completes, the first of which has already been carried out and funding drawn down on.

Restoration of Old Nangor Road Water Pump

Council has been contacted by Clondalkin Tidy Towns around questions with this project which will be considered by the project co-ordinator.

New Christmas Lights for Clondalkin Village

It was agreed with Clondalkin Chamber that they will use the money on infrastructure improvements in 2019 for future Christmas lighting displays.

A Community Orchard, Clondalkin Electoral Area

Native apple trees to be sourced, as agreed at full Council meeting. 67 apple trees will be planted across five separate locations in October 2019.

Safety and Inclusivity Study of Clondalkin's Public Spaces

The Council has met with Dr Joanne Bourke, a researcher who recently worked on Dublin City Council's Safer Cities report, as part of market research into carrying out this study. The Council also met with the project submitter over initial thoughts for the project. A contact list for research is being created for use once the project commences.

On Street Bicycle Pump, Clondalkin Villlage

Site location to be identified.

Bottle banks and recycling facilities for Cherrywood

Council staff identified two locations but both have been refused. They are currently investigating suitable locations along Bawnogue Road going towards Melrose Estate and in Corkagh Park.

WiFi Activated Self-Guided WalkHistorical Trail of Clondalkin

Tender document is to issue once Council's IT department have agreed on areas such as the app's security features. Once the tender is issued, it is estimated that it will be a 6-8 week turnaround to roll out the app.

New Play Ground, Forest Hill Estate

The Council has agreed to meet with Forest Hill Residents Association prior to the commencement of the design stage. It is envisaged that consultation will commence in Q1 2019.

Acoustic Piano for the Rathcoole Community Centre

The Council's Community section is in discussions with Rathcoole Community Centre around where to place the piano and how the booking system will be operated.

Gym Equipment and Activities for Rathcoole Community Centre

Rathcoole Community Centre is obtaining quotes on equipment within the agreed funding amount to submit to the Council's Community team.

Playground in Waterstown Park, Palmerstown

Project has been completed and an official opening will be scheduled.

Feasibility Study for the Restoration of Silver Bridge, Palmerstown

This project is being developed in conjunction with Fingal County Council and SDCC is awaiting the feasibility study from Fingal.

Christmas Lights in Lucan Village

The Christmas lights were officially turned on on Sunday, December 3rd 2017.

Planting Native Apple Trees, Lucan Electoral Area

To celebrate the launch of National Tree Week 2018, Council staff planted an apple tree with the Mayor and the children from Scoil Aine Naofa, in Vesey Park, Lucan at 11am on Wednesday March 21st. It is proposed to plant 70 Apple trees as community orchards in the following locations: Lucan Demense, Griffeen Valley Park, Willsbrook Park, Vesey Park and Waterstown Park.

Access to Church and Graveyard at Mill Lane, Palmerstown

Issues regarding securing access to the church and graveyard remain as the ground is not publically owned.

Free Library Book Banks in Public Places - Lucan Electoral Area

Books were delivered in 2018 to a number of locations and the project has been completed.

Multi-Games Wall in Lucan

Works have begun on the site in early March with an expected completion date of May 2019.

Restoration of King John’s Bridge Griffeen Park - Lucan

Conservation work is due to take place following an extensive and successful treatment of nearby tree roots that had potential to damage the structure of the bridge.
